Random observations
Since this is a lazy Sunday island afternoon, and since I treated myself to finally purchasing a Playstation Portable, some things about the world became apparent to me:
- The $322 I just dropped on the PSP, NCAA Football '07 and Office Space on UMD and a 256MB Duo Pro memory stick is still chealer than the cost for me to get a video iPod. For my money, and for the fact that it is an Internet-aware and programmable device, there's way more functional value.
- I'm going to start mucking with Python on the PSP. Jacob Kaplan-Moss has reportedly made some headway in this space, and until Sony adopts a .NET CLR, it's pretty much lights out for C#.
- There are versions of NASCAR, Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo coming out. Sweet. Tragically, no such luck for the SimCity or Roller Coaster Tycoon franchises. And still no volleyball titles...
- I'm hunting around all the electronics and toy shops for a Evanescence's "Anywhere But Home" on UMD
- It just dawned on me that Shaun Alexander is the first player whose likeness appears on the covers of EA's college (NCAA Football 2001) and pro (Madden '07) titles.
